Mamelodi Sundowns sign SuperSport United man on free transfer

SuperSport United have reportedly lost one of their star players to Mamelodi Sundowns who signed him on a free transfer.

According to Power FM Sport, Grant Kekana is on his way to Chloorkop ahead of the new season after signing a pre-contract with Sundowns in January.

Kekana reportedly put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with Sundowns which will come into effect from 1 July.

Kekana would follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jeremy Brockie, and most recently Aubrey Modiba who left SuperSport for Sundowns in recent years.

His reported move to Sundowns comes a shock given the number of defenders the club has in his position.

As things stand, Sundowns have Khuliso Mudau, Thapelo Morena, and Nyiko Mobbie among the other players as their right-backs.

There is also Nicholus Lukhubeni who was on loan at Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila now known as Marumo Gallants.

Now, Kekana, 28, would need to step up as competition for places is very high at the Tshwane giants.

Kekana managed 21 appearances across all competitions for SuperSport United this past season.
