The former champions of England, Liverpool, are said to have opened talks with Leicester City’s most coveted midfielder, Youri Tielemans.
It comes with little surprise to hear of all the European giants being mentioned in the same conversation with Belgian wonder boy, Youri Tielemans – much like it was when he made his switch from Monaco and Leicester beat a host of top clubs to his signature.
Back then, in the summer of 2019, Ole Gunnar Solskjær recognised Tielemans as an important addition to the team and future plans at Old Trafford. Unexpectedly, it was the Foxes who won the Youri race.
Leicester signed the player for £32m on a four-year deal and have never looked back. Now, although they want nothing but to keep him at the King Power, they are well aware they might lose him and are prepared to sell to the highest bidder and for the right price.
Liverpool looking for the perfect Gini replacement
Liverpool are looking to strengthen in many areas this summer but business will be conducted a bit differently than before – meaning they going to be even tighter on their transfer budget.
It was previously stated that the Reds would not be looking at signing players to succeed Georginio Wijnaldum but instead, will see the promising Curtis Jones take on a bigger role at the club.
Following the news of their unwillingness to find a new box-to-box central figure, it was said that Youri Tielemans is not at the top of Klopp’s wishlist and other midfield options are ahead of him – that and other areas across the pitch are regarded as more important.
News has since changed according to reports. It is believed that Liverpool’s transfer committee has commenced talks for a potential move for the Belgian.
But this rumour/report looks as if it will stop right there and will progress no further – when you consider what is being said by the price tag slapped on Tielemans by Leicester.
Liverpool have reportedly opened talks to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.
Journalist Daniel Nilson is reporting that talks have been opened over a potential move, although it appears unlikely given the huge fee Leicester will want for the midfielder.

They’ve been lauded as a tough cookie to negotiate with and their past sales illustrate just that. Ben Chilwell, Harry Maguire, N’ Golo Kante, all purchased for extremely small amounts and then sold for astronomical figures.
It is being said that Klopp and the Reds transfer committee will need to fork out somewhere close to £70m and upwards for the Belgian – that takes them right out of the race and leaves Manchester United clear to sign him, with them still rumoured to have a big interest in the pass master.
Tielemans is currently on international duty with Belgium. With us one day away from the Euro 2020 kickoff, the player’s club situation will be put on hold until after the European competition concludes.
What do you think is a fair price for one of Belgium’s biggest talents and one of Leicester City’s most valuable players, Youri Tielemans?
