A total of thirty goals were recorded in the various league
matches played across the nation in the week 7 of the Ghana Premier League.
There was no away win as almost all clubs who played away
from home failed to secure any point with the exception of Dreams FC.
Accra Hearts of Oak had the best of the weekend when they hammered ten men Bechem United 6-1 in Accra on Saturday.
Victor Aidoo scored twice with Omar Manaf, Frederick Ansah,
Souleymane Lawali all registering a goal each for Hearts of Oak. Kwabena Adu
got the consolation goal for Bechem United.
The mouth watering encounter between WAFA and Medeama produced a nine-goal thriller at Sogakope on Sunday.
Daniel Lomotey became the superman for week 7 after scoring four
goals for WAFA (quintuple) with Godwin Agbevor adding one to make it five.
Medeama were down by three goals in the first half and had
to fight back to give WAFA a good run for their money as they registered four
goals in the second half. A brace from Rashid Nortey and then two goals from
Abass Mohammed and Justice Blay respectively were not enough to secure at least
a point for the Tarkwa based club.
Richard Berko, Kwame Boateng and Diawusie Taylor scored
three goals amongst them when Karela defeated Elmina Sharks 3-1 at Anyinase.
Sharks goal was scored by James Bissew.
Three goals were recorded at Obuasi on Sunday. Ashantigold SC had to come from behind to beat Berekum Chelsea 2-1. Augustine Hene’s lead for Chelsea was cancelled by Appiah McCarthy as Hans Kwofie got the winner for Ashgold.
Another set of three goals were also obtained at the Nana
Agyemang Badu Park when Aduana beat Accra Great Olympics 2-1. Fabian Koassi and
Yakubu Mohammed got the goals for Aduana as Maxwell Quaye scored for Olympics.
King Faisal had to succumb their lead to Dream’s FC through an
own goal in the dying minutes of the early kickoff on Friday. Yakubu Wadudu
scored an own goal to cancel Kwadwo Frimpong’s leader for Faisal as the match
produced two goals to end in a draw.
Abraham Wayo’s lone goal was enough to secure all three
points for Liberty Professionals when the hosted Legon City FC in the Accra
derby.
Inter Allies also piped Techiman Eleven Wonders by a lone
goal through Alex Aso.
The match between Asante Kotoko and Dwarfs has been
postponed due to the former’s involvement in the CAF Champions League. They
play away to Al Hilal in Sudan
