French Tennis Federation president Gilles Moretton has called on Alize Cornet to cool it on criticism of the France Minister of Sport.
The FFT president responded after Cornet blasted France Minister of Sport over Roland Garros postponing for one week in an interview with Tennis Channel’s Steve Weissman.

“It stays between us, but our Sports Minister is a disaster,” Cornet said, referring to Roxana Maracineanu. “Sorry I have nothing against her, but she only takes bad decisions from sport, it’s like she doesn’t care.”
Taking to Twitter, the Minister of Sport said Cornet has her facts wrong and that the FFT ultimately made the call to delay the tournament one week.
“This [commentary] of Alizé Cornet is undoubtedly the expression of a misunderstanding,” the Minister of Sport said in a statement. “The postponement of Roland Garros for a week is a decision of @FFTennis.”

FFT president Moretton concurred with the statement and said the FFT has already called on Cornet to be more restrained in her comments after “totally inappropriate statements.”
