We’ve got a light 9-game slate in the MLB for Thursday with most of the games taking place this afternoon starting at 1:10 p.m. ET. We’ve got a week under our belts, so that gives us a nice little sample size to base our stacks on. Most teams have gone at least one time through their rotations and we’ve gotten a look a the bats.
Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the MLB game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can learn more about MLB DFS strategy, including team stacks, here.
Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the MLB slate on Thursday, April 8th.
Xander Bogaerts ($5,700)
JD Martinez ($5,600)
Rafael Devers ($5,400)
Christian Vasquez ($5,200)
The Red Sox offense has come to life since the first series against the O’s to start the season. Boston scored a combined 26 runs over a three-game sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays this week. Baltimore is fresh off an extra innings game at Yankee Stadium and heads home to host the Red Sox, so quick turnaround for the lineup. Matt Harvey is on the hill for the O’s and couldn’t last 5.0 innings in his first start. If the Red Sox can get to Harvey and that worn out bullpen, we can expect another high run total.
Trevor Story ($5,100)
Charlie Blackmon ($5,000)
Ryan McMahon ($4,500)
Chris Owings ($3,700) Q
Josh Fuentes ($3,300)
Garrett Hampson ($3,200)
We’re going back to the Coors Field well with D-Backs vs. Rox on Thursday afternoon. Merrill Kelly is on the hill for Arizona and allowed 3 runs over 4 IP in his first start of the season. The D-Backs hurler has been awful against the Rockies in his career, allowing 15 ER on 24 hits over 17.2 IP over 3 starts. The Rockies bats are coming alive with at least 8 runs in back-to-back games. If Owings sits, we could get a bit of value with Sam Hilliard at $2,500 in the OF for Colorado.
