PELLA — Sophomore Greenlee Smock opened her prep career with a 46 at Bos Landen Golf Club during Lynnville-Sully’s girls golf team’s season-opening win over Pella on Thursday.
The Hawks defeated the Dutch 259-265.
“We saw a very good first performance from all four of our girls,” L-S golf coach Jeff Knouse said. “This meet gave us a very good picture of what to work on in the coming practices and weeks. Overall, I’m very proud of this group and their ability to play through the first meet jitters and come away with a win. There’s no better way to start off our season.”
Smock’s 46 was good enough to earn meet medalist. Brooke Maston shot a 65, while Dakota Bokhoven carded a 73 and Callista Hackert had a 76 for the Hawks.
