There is a loaded 11-game slate on tap for Monday to start off the week. We’ve made it past the NBA Trade Deadline and will still have to deal with a bit of fallout before rosters stabilize for the stretch run in April and May. With injuries and players on the move, there will be a lot of value to be had.
That being said, it is a great time to give you some value plays for your DFS contest. Unlike NFL DFS, where one pick can make or break your lineup or it’s tough to find quality low-tier value.
In NBA DFS, you can find quality value plays under $5K that can give you a quick 10 points off the bench, grab some rebounds, or stuff the stat sheet. It does not matter if you are playing a 50/50 or Double Up contest, we are going to provide you with three players that you need to put in your lineup.
The Nets are going to get Kyrie Irving back in the rotation on Monday vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves. He sat out a three-game road trip due to personal reasons. Irving’s return means this game could be less competitive — the line is at -11.5 for Brooklyn. So with that in mind, we could see Claxton get some garbage minutes at center. DeAndre Jordan doesn’t play much. LaMarcus Aldridge isn’t debuting for the team just yet. Claxton has played at least 20 minutes in six straight games. If that continues, he has a good chance to return some value at this price.
The Pistons shipped out Delon Wright before the trade deadline and Dennis Smith Jr. and Killian Hayes are still sidelined. This has opened up a chance for rookie PG Saben Lee to get some minutes. He started last game against the Washington Wizards and posted 25.3 DKFP in 24 minutes. The Pistons take on a reeling Toronto Raptors team that traded away Norman Powell. With the Pistons rebuilding, Lee could see more run at guard even if he isn’t starting. Around 20-25 minutes is all we need for Lee to give us back value.
There’s a decent chance you have no idea who Brodric Thomas is. He’s an undrafted rookie free agent who started off with the Houston Rockets before moving to the Cavs. Thomas is from Truman State University, so there’s a good chance you had no idea who he was in college either. Thomas has played 51 minutes over the past two games and started last game with Jarrett Allen (concussion) out. If Thomas starts again, he’s near min-price and should see 30+ minutes. The Utah Jazz are a tough matchup but that could just mean more garbage minutes.
