Chris Jericho challenges Wheeler Yuta

Yuta goaded Jericho into exactly what he wanted. After the challenge was laid out, Yuta turned to Castagnoli and Regal and said, “that was easy!” Beating AEW’s inaugural World Championship would be huge for Yuta. It would set up Mox vs. Yuta 4. That’s a matchup that fans have already been clamoring for. Getting an interim World Championship shot is already a big deal, but to have it against one of his mentors makes it that much sweeter.

On the other hand, Mox made an impassioned plea to face “Lionheart” Jericho, the “Last Student of Stu Hart’s Dungeon”. He doesn’t want to face the Sports Entertainer (who Wheeler will likely get next week). Jericho is itching to be the first-ever two-time “Le Champion”. He also doesn’t want to get embarrassed by Yuta.

While Yuta should beat Jericho, it likely won’t happen right now. All of the Blackpool Combat Club (save for Bryan Danielson) have a title. Jericho Appreciation Society has none. Jericho will do everything to get a shot at bringing a title to his stable. We already saw Jake Hager assist Garcia in beating Danielson. He and the rest of JAS will definitely try to help their leader get a title shot.
