There were several interesting games in the 2nd round of the 2nd stage of the Greek Championships.
Olympiacos remained unbeaten, but it had to work hard to defeat Apollon (16:12). Panionios beat Vouliagmeni in the other match of Group 1 and moved to 2nd place.
Ydraikos, AEK and Peristeri are in a hunt for 5th place. Ydraikos recorded a convincing 7:3 win over PAOK and climbed atop Group 2.

Apollon – Olympiacos 12:16 (4:3, 4:3, 2:5, 2:5)

Olympiacos produced a comeback in the second half to beat Apollon and continue its winning streak. After a 4:3 first period, Apollon built a 5:3 lead early in the second. The visitors managed to level at 5:5, but Apollon re-built a 2-goal advantage and went to 8:6 before the middle break. Olympiacos opened the second half with four unanswered goals and earned a 10:8 lead, but Apollon was able to equalize (10:10). Still, just 17 seconds before the final break, Genidounias gave Olympiacos an 11:10 lead. The reigning champion started the fourth period in the same way as in the third – netting four goals in a row. Two minutes before the end, Olympiacos led 15:10 and secured three points.
Konstantinos Genidounias netted five goals for Olympiacos, while Filip Filipovic added three. However, the best scorer was Apollon’s leader Alexandros Gounas who found the net six times.
Panionios defeated Vouliagmeni and caught up with the rival in points. At halftime, Panionios led 7:5. The hosts produced a 3:0 series in the third period to earn a 10:5 lead. Vouliagmeni couldn’t come back from five goals down. Moskov and Dimou led Panionios with three goals each. Kapotsis and Alafragkis netted two for Vouliagmeni.

Ydraikos played excellently in defense beating AEK 7:3. Since Peristeri lost to Ethnikos, Ydraikos climbed to 5th place.
