Croatian and Serbian clubs that had European matches last week played their postponed games of the national championships.
Mladost and Jadran Split faced off in a game of the 2nd round of the Croatian League. This encounter was the start of the series of encounters between these two former European champions. Jadran and Mladost will meet twice in the following several days. On Saturday, Jadran will host Mladost in the 1st leg of the Champions League Qualification Round 3. The return match in Zagreb is scheduled for October 20.
Jadran proved too strong for Mladost in the league match.

Jadran’s big victory over Mladost isn’t a surprise. Both teams have significantly changed since the end of the previous season. Jadran brought several excellent players (including two high-class goalscorers, Bukic and Kharkov, who arrived from Mladost). On the other side, reigning champion Mladost rejuvenated the team.
The hosts equalized just once (1:1). Jadran had a 6-goal lead already at halftime (8:2) and killed all suspense. The visitors had a perfect percentage of extra player shots (4/4). Rino Buric and Jerko Marinic Kragic scored four goals each for Jadran. The two were followed by Konstantin Khrakov , Andjelo Setka and Antonio Duzevic (two goals each). Franko Lazic and Dario Rakovac netted two for Mladost.

Two former champions made no mistake in the postponed games of the 2nd round.
Crvena Zvezda visited the city of Nis before the Champions League Qualifications playoffs against Savona. The Belgrade-based side defeated Nais 18:4, with four goals from Filip Gardasevic.
Sabac hosted Valis. This was Sabac’s first game in the 2021/22 Serbian League. Mihajlo Repanovic scored three goals in an 11:8 victory.
