Pro Recco had a few younger players on the roster for the game against Roma, but the European champion collected points with an easy win. The visitors, led by Ben Hallock and Gergo Zalanki, had a six-goal lead (7:1) midway through the second quarter and only the margin of their win was in question.

Ortigia visited Genoa to face Quinto. The Sicilians had a big 10:4 advantage before the final period and they were 11:5 up two minutes from the end. Quinto “woke up” at the finish of the game, but it was too late. The hosts scored three goals and halved the difference (8:11).

Salerno kept with the LEN Euro Cup semifinalist Telimar until the middle of the second period. In the 12th minute, two goals separated the rivals (Telimar led 6:4). But, Salerno couldn’t find the net in the following 12 minutes, while the hosts produced a 6:0 run, and entered the final period with a safe 12:4 advantage.

Brescia stormed past Anzio, although the visitors were decimated. Brescia’s coach Alessandro Bovo had only 11 available players in Anzio (9 field players and 2 goalkeepers). Still, the reigning champion cruised to an 18:6 victory. Only six of Brescia’s players got on the scoresheet, but that was enough. Jacopo Alesiani was the best scorer with four goals.

Savona defeated Posilllipo with ease. The man of the match was the best scorer of the World U20 Championships in Prague Matteo Iocchi Gratta, who found the net four times.
