WPV Level 1 courses take place in Nigeria > World ParaVolleyWorld ParaVolley

The Nigeria ParaVolley Federation (NPF) is hosting World ParaVolley Level 1 refereeing and coaching courses from August 22-28 in Surulere in Nigeria’s largest city of Lagos.

This initiative was jointly coordinated by World ParaVolley and ParaVolley Africa and is being staged under the development of coaches and referees in West Africa. 

The seven-day programme offers coursework and a tournament for coaches and referees from Ghana, Republic of Benin, Benin and Nigeria.

The event is well-attended with a total of 17 participants – six women and 11 men – in the coaching course, and 23 referee candidates – 11 women and 12 men – taking part in the refereeing course. Sierra Leone, Togo and Tunisia were not able to attend the courses due to logistical and COVID-19 travel restrictions.

World ParaVolley Coaches Commission member Dr. Mossad Elauity is the instructor for the coaching course, and Mr Khalid Shanishah is the instructor for the refereeing course, while Mr Robinson Tumwesigye is the course coordinator. ParaVolley Africa is represented by the Secretary General, Mrs Oripa Mubika.
