Jiangmen, China, December 26, 2021 – Fujian labored over 120 minutes to defeat Zhejiang with a 3-2 victory on Sunday here in the 2021-22 Chinese Women’s Volleyball Super League.
Before Sunday’s match, Fujian were ninth in the league while Zhejiang occupied eighth place, with both sides targeting a top-eight finish this season.
Fujian recovered from a 25-19 loss in first set to win the second set 25-20, but saw themselves trailing again after Zhejiang took the third set 26-24.
Both sides traded blows in the final two sets before Fujian outlasted their opponents 25-16 and 15-7.
Zheng Yixin of Fujian scored a game-high 27 points, and her teammate Zhuang Yushan added 24. Zhejiang’s Chen Xiyue notched 25 points.
Also on Sunday, Shenzhen beat Yunnan 3-1 (25-19, 25-19, 24-26, 25-23), Henan defeated Hebei 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-20) and Sichuan bounced back from two sets down to beat Beijing 3-2 (22-25, 20-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-9).
On Monday, Tianjin Bohai Bank are due to face Shanghai, while Guangdong challenge Liaoning and Shandong take on Jiangsu.
