Tin-Tin Ho is looking to add the missing colour to her collection and strike gold at her third Commonwealth Games.

The 23-year-old from Paddington took Mixed Doubles silver alongside Liam Pitchford at both Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018, as well as being part of the bronze medal-winning women’s team four years ago in Australia.

The four-time national women’s singles champion said of her call-up: “It’ll be my third Games and a home Games, so I’m very excited.

“It will be nice to exceed how I’ve done in the past in terms of results but as always it’s a case of trying my best and seeing what can happen.

“It would be very nice to get a gold, obviously. I’ve got two silvers in the Mixed, so that could be a good chance again, but we’ll see.”

Ho, who is currently studying for a medical degree at the University of Nottingham, is joined in the women’s line up by Maria Tsaptsinos, who will be at her second Commonwealths, and believes that, and having coach Kelly Sibley on the bench, will provide crucial experience.

Ho said: “I think we’ll be a good team and I think Maria, Kelly and I can really support the rest of the team and involve them in everything and make sure we’re a team and all on the same page.

“It will be good and hopefully we can challenge.”

Ho believes her own previous Games experience, coupled by the support of a home crowd, could be crucial.

She added: “I think what I’ve learned most from the other Games is just the experience of competing in that environment.

“My first Games was more of a shock of how big it was, but now I’ve had experience of that I know how to really focus on the table tennis.

“Glasgow definitely felt like a home games and I think this will be the same or better. It will be great to have everyone behind us and will help us.”
