Junior Jeannette King of the CCSU women’s swimming and diving team was named the Northeast Conference Swimmer of the Week it was announced on Wednesday. King and the Blue Devils swam against Southern Connecticut in their final tuneup before the conference championships.
King posted the fastest times in the conference in the 50 back (26.82) and the 100 free (52.39) this past week. She is currently ranked 7th overall in the 50 back & 5th in the 100 free in the NEC.
King, along with classmate Destiny Johnson, was named to the NEC Prime Performers list. Johnson posted a win in the 50 free in a season-best time (24.96) and took silver in the 100 free (56.03).
The Blue Devils next scheduled meet is the Northeast Conference Championships on February 22-26.
