Little League® International remembers former New York District 17 Administrator Dominic “Major” Latterii. He was 93.
Mr. Letterii was a native of Poughkeepsie, New York, and dedicated 50 years of his life to Little League.
Professionally, Mr. Letterii was employed for 38 years by the IBM corporation, retiring in 1990. He also was proprietor of Letterii Sporting Goods from 1070-to-1995.
The majority of years Mr. Letterii dedicated to the Little League program came at the district level. He was elected as New York District 17 Administrator in 1973 and held that position until his retirement in 2011.
Mr. Letterii was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore, and Barbara Letterii; brothers, Peter, Luigi, and Pasquale; and sisters, Jean, Dora, Mary, and Adeline. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie; sons, Dom, Jr., Mickey, Jeff, and Greg; daughters, Lauri, Lisa, and Lesli; grandchildren, Ryan, Aubrey, Marie, Augustus, Harrison, Domiana, Dante, Dakota, Delyla, Isabel, Dominic, Mickey, Capri, Ayden and Brodie; and great grandchildren, Abigail, Jackson, and Rose.
