Australia’s Robertson, runner-up in this event in 2020, will be one of 32 players heading to the Tempodrom in January. Runs of 52, 88, 103, 135 and 73 helped him to a superb win over White in the second qualifying round on Friday.

Berlin’s Simon Lichtenberg saw his hopes of a Tempodrom debut end with a 5-1 defeat against Ricky Walden, who top scored with 107.

Also through to the TV stages are Luca Brecel, who saw off Wu Yize 5-1, and Zhang Anda who whitewashed Si Jiahui 5-0.

In the first round, it was a bittersweet day for Thepchaiya Un-Nooh as he made a 147 but lost 5-3 to Fan Zhengyi. Jack Lisowski, runner-up to Judd Trump last year, top scored with 110 in a 5-3 win over Andrew Pagett.

BetVictor Northern Ireland Open champion Mark Allen kept his hot streak going as he beat Alfie Burden 5-1 with top breaks of 120 and 122.
