LOGAN TROTTER returns to the No 15 jersey after another classy performance in Stirling County’s win over Heriot’s with some great carries. He is joined in the back-three by Edinburgh man Matt Currie, who added some x-factor to the Watsonians backline on the right wing, and two-try Rolls-Royce Aidan Cross of Southern Knights on the left wing, while Walter Fifita playing for Stirling County is unfortunate to miss out.
It was a tight call between Bobby Beattie of Ayrshire Bulls and 18-year-old Ben Salmon of Stirling County for the inside-centre berth, with the ?? just edging it, while the outstanding Robbie McCallum of Boroughmuir Bears was a must-pick at inside centre.
Lee Millar came up with a few key plays and managed the game with his unusual authority for Watsonians in their top of the table victory over Ayrshire Bulls at Millbrae so is names at stand-off, and his halfback partner, Rory Brand, made a strong case for selection during the first half of that match, but he loses out to two-try Sean Kennedy of Stirling County.

In the pack, the battle between Watsonians loose-head Sam Grahamslaw and Bulls tight-head Michael Scott, in both the tight and loose, was worth the admission price alone, so they both are rewarded with selection, while Alex McGuire once again impressed at hooker for the Bulls but misses out to 18-year-old debutant Jerry Blyth-Lafferty, who proved he is more than ready to play at this level with an aggressive and industrious 35-minutes off the bench. Lewis Skinner of Stirling County is unlucky to miss out on selection at tight-head.
Luis Ball put in some big hits for Watsonians and Hamish Bain‘s all-action performance in the loose and at line-out time edges out his equally industrious Bears team-mate Euan Ferrie for the other second-row slot.
The relentless Josh King of Bears gets the nod at blindside flanker, Iain Wilson’s two tries and all-action display for Heriot’s earns selection just ahead of Connor Gordon of Stirling County at openside, and the excellent Iain Moody edges out Benedict Grant of Stirling County at No 8.
