The good ol’ Future Considerations is on the move again.
The Minnesota Wild have traded veteran defenseman Dmitri Kulikov to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for future considerations.
Kulikov has one year left at $2.25 million, giving Minnesota $5.738 million in cap space.
Known more as a defensive defender, Kulikov had a career-high 24 points in 80 games last year while averaging 18:12 in ice time. The 31-year-old Russian has played for Florida, Buffalo, Winnipeg, New Jersey, Edmonton and Minnesota over his career, with Anaheim being his fourth team since the start of the 2021 calendar year.
This is the third deal involving future considerations since the start of free agency, with the Flames sending Sean Monahan and a conditional first-round pick for it back on Aug. 18, and the Vegas Golden Knights acquiring nothing in exchange for Max Pacioretty and Dylan Coughlan on July 13.
