Tennessee Titans’ offseason roster among the oldest in the NFL

The Tennessee Titans’ offseason roster will see a lot of changes in the months ahead, but as of right now it is among the oldest in the NFL.

Colts beat writer Andrew Walker took a look at the respective offseason rosters of every team in the league and calculated the average age of each.

The average age of Tennessee’s players sits at 25.58, which places it as the eight-oldest roster among all 32 NFL teams. The Houston Texans have the oldest roster (26.37 years), while the Los Angeles Rams (24.62 years) have the youngest squad.

As far as the other teams in the AFC South are concerned, the Jacksonville Jaguars (24.8 years) have the fourth-youngest roster, and the Indianapolis Colts (24.98 years) are tied for the eighth-youngest.

While youth rules in the NFL, the Titans having an older roster isn’t necessarily a bad thing for a team that is in a win-now situation.

Going into last season, the Titans’ 53-man roster ranked as the fourth-oldest in the NFL, and third-oldest among teams that made the playoffs.

Of course, depending on who makes the 53-man roster out of training camp, this average age could go in either direction, but chances are Tennessee will remain among the oldest teams in the league no matter what.
