Fresh off their second win of the season, the Detroit Lions look to take their spirited effort from last Sunday into the south when they take on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon.
The Lions pulled out of one of the team’s best performances in recent history, as they did not trail once in their dominant 30-12 win over the NFC West-leading Arizona Cardinals. Despite almost giving up 400 yards to Arizona’s offense, Detroit’s defense stepped and made some big stops in the red zone, including a huge play by Amani Oruwariye that led to a touchdown.
The win gave the Lions a win against a team five-or-more games above .500 in over 10 years.

Now they get set to take on the Falcons, who are just a week removed from a rough 31-13 loss at the hands of the surging San Francisco 49ers. Atlanta has really been up-and-down throughout much of the 2021 season. At one point, they were sitting at a 3-3 record, but hav stumbled down to a 6-8 record, as they have split their last four games.
The Falcons and Lions have had some close battles over the last few years, but Detroit leads the all-time series, going 25-13 against Atlanta, including a dramatic comeback win in Atlanta last season.
