In this episode of NBA Flashback, we go return to April 30, 2009 and relive Game 6 of what might be the best series in NBA history. That series was a 2009 first-round matchup in the Eastern Conference between the No. 2-seeded (and defending-champion) Boston Celtics and the spry, No. 7-seeded Chicago Bulls. That series pitted Boston’s Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo up against a young Bulls team led by Rookie of the Year Derrick Rose and veteran big man Joakim Noah. Chicago fought through three overtimes to win Game 6 at home and we talk with then-Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro about the emotions of the series, when he first knew Rose was special and where this game ranks among the greatest in his career.
