Yankees change Saturday pitching plans for Gerrit Cole amid rain in forecast

Gerrit Cole throws off mound at spring training game

The Yankees have made some changes involving their pitching plans for Saturday.

With rain in the forecast throughout Florida, Gerrit Cole, who was originally slated to start on Saturday against the Pirates, will now throw live BP at the team’s player development complex at 9:30 a.m. to ensure he gets his work in.

With that change, Jameson Taillon is now scheduled to start on the hill against his former team, if the weather holds up. It’ll be Taillon’s second appearance of the spring, and his first start. First pitch for that game remains for 1:05 p.m.
