Despite missing the entire 2021 college season with an injury, West Virginia shortstop Tevin Tucker will return to action this summer in the newly-formed MLB Draft League. Tucker is the fifth WVU player announced to play in the Draft League this summer.

Tucker was WVUβs starting shortstop in 2019 and 2020. He is a career .192 hitter in 76 games with 11 extra-base hits and 26 stolen bases. Prep Baseball Report, who handles scouting for the Draft League, said Tucker is maybe the best defensive player.
βWhile thereβs little doubt that the glove will play at the next level, the jury is still out on Tuckerβs bat,β PBR writes. βShowing that he can make an impact at the plate in the Draft League could give the slick-fielding shortstopβs Draft stock a big boost.β
Tucker joins WVUβs Paul McIntosh, Tyler Doanes, Austin Davis and Madison Jeffrey in the Draft League. The Draft League is set to begin its season on Monday. WVUβs regular season will conclude this weekend in Austin, Texas and the Big 12 Tournament is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.
