Manchester United to face Watford on March 30

Two second-half goals by Raul Jimenez and Diogo Joto were all the Wolves needed to seal the win against Manchester United at Molineux.

The Wolves outplayed United, knocking them out of the FA Cup and robbing them of a highly needed victory, as they struggle to put up their fight in the highly contested race for the top four.

The win was no mean fete for the Wolves as it pushed them into first FA cup semi-final since 1988.

United in the hunt for revenge

However, after a shocking defeat on Saturday, Manchester United will be seeking revenge when they meet Watford on March 30.

The fifth-placed United have won 17 games this season and they will be hoping to defeat the Hornets to return back to their winning ways after suffering defeat in the past two matches.

The two teams last met in September where the game ended at 2-1.

Odds in favor of United

When the Red Devils welcome the Hornets at Old Trafford, after a two-week international break, the game could go either way. Both teams will be looking to grab points in that match.

The eighth-placed Watford will be seeking to add to its 43 points tally and move to the sixth position. Their victory will also mean a step away from West Ham who are currently only a point below them.

The odds seem to be in favor of Manchester United and less in favor of their rivals. According to the bookies, Manchester United have a 1.40 chance to win, while their rivals stand at 6.75 chance of winning. The chance for a tie stands at 4.50.

Apart from the odds, other factors are likely to play out during the highly anticipated match.

Home advantage aspect

The Red Devils will be having the added advantage over their opponents since the game will be played in their territory. The huge fan base at home and the pressure not to disappoint them could push United into victory. Manchester United‘s fans will be looking forward to their team’s triumph.

United’s push for top four slot is a key factor

United’s Champions League dream was squandered last weekend when they were trashed 2-0 by Arsenal, throwing them back to the fifth position. However, there is still hope, as the two rivals are only two points apart.

The Red Devils are currently on the fifth position with 58 points, while their rivals have 60 points. A win against Watford will give them a better chance in the race for the top four spot.

Currently, six teams are contesting for the top four slot in the Premier League. Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are in the race to secure the crucial fourth spot in the competitive Premier League considered hotter than hell.

A win will strengthen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future in United

Despite the improvement in performance since taking over the team from Jose Mourinho, the two successive losses has put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under huge pressure to prove that he will cope with the task. The defeat was a clear indication to Solskjaer that his team needed to up their game if they are to survive the remaining eight matches.

However, the caretaker manager has been able to turn the tides and earn the love of Manchester’s fans. He has won nine matches out of the 13 games under his leadership and managed to find a way to revive confidence in the United team that was on the brink of failing.

Victory against the Hornets will also be a plus for him as he continues to seek an opportunity as a full-time manager.

Change of tactics is key

Both teams have a good chance to win when they meet at Old Trafford, but the tactics and overall performance of players in both teams will determine who carries the day.
