FORT WORTH, TX – The Panther City Lacrosse Club has signed right-handed forward Patrick Dodds to a three-year contract extension, the team announced today. Dodds is now signed through the 2024-25 season.
“Patrick Dodds is a special player in this league and we are thrilled that he will remain an integral part of our club,” Panther City Lacrosse Club General Manager Bob Hamley said. “Under the guidance of Head Coach Tracey Kelusky and the rest of our tremendous coaching staff, I truly believe Dodds can not only become a centerpiece of our team, but also the NLL. His future is so bright and I believe he has just scratched the surface of his potential.”
The Rookie of the Year finalist and All-Rookie team member led Panther City with 84 points, scoring 26 goals and dishing out 58 assists. Dodds also scored the first game-winning goal in Panther City history in New York against the Riptide on January 15 and netted a career-high 11 points, including a career-high five goals, at Colorado on March 11. The Victoria, British Columbia native became just the ninth rookie in NLL history to pass 50 assists in a season on April 15 in San Diego and had 11 games with five or more points this season. Dodds also grabbed 60 loose balls and had a .268 shot percentage during his rookie campaign.
