10:01 am. Naveen Daries RSA VT: FTY, good in the air, just a big hop back. 12950 (4.2, 8.750)

9:58 am. Emma Spence CAN FX: I’ve never needed anyone to medal as much as I need Emma to right now. Love her opening choreo. 1.5 through to double full, pretty solid. Double wolf turn. Switch ring through to tour jeté full. Front tuck through to double tuck, hop back. Switch half. Queen! 12.800 (4.7, 8.100)

9:57 am. Cara Kennedy SCO VT: Yurchenko 1.5, lands it with her feet too far ahead of her hips and stumbles it back, sadly sits it. 12.200 (4.6, 7.600)

9:55 am. Shannon Archer SCO FX: Triple full, very nice! Small hop back. Front layout to front full, oh no, really deep and can’t stand up from it, sits it. Lovely leap series and Popa. Clean switch half. Double tuck is very strong. 11.500 (4.6, 6.900)

9:53 am. Touch for the second half! Poppy Stickler has the lead right now with a 50.200.

9:50 am. Laurie Denommée CAN FX: Tour jeté half. Double layout, set was low but whips it around and sticks it! Split jump full, front layout front full, stuck it cold, that was very nice. Had a super controlled wolf turn, double pike, another superb landing, only one heel moved. 13.150 (5.0, 8.150)

9:48 am. Nadine Joy Nathan SGP VT: FTY, excellent landing! Not a ton of power off the table and she pikes it down a little bit but that was very solid. 12.850 (4.2, 8.650)

9:46 am. Emily Whitehead AUS FX: Clean wolf turn at the beginning. 1.5 to front full, lands it a little to the side and bounces over. Switch leap, through to tour jeté full. Double tuck, looked deep and then when she went to correct it she pulled it back and sat it. Double pike with a very solid landing. 11.850 (5.0, 6.950, -0.1 ND)

9:45 am. Emma Yap SGP VT: Tsuk back pike with a lunge back. 12.050 (3.4, 8.650)

9:43 am. Caitlin Rooskrantz RSA FX: 1.5 to front full with a step forward. Hop L full through to her leap series. I think I missed her other passes? Not sure if they started the routine late. 12.500 (4.9, 7.600)

9:41 am. Tara Donnelly IOM VT: FTY, great landing! Small step back. She had a great day today after a rough qualifications! Very happy for her. 12.800 (4.2, 8.600)

9:39 am. Poppy Stickler WAL FX: Kinda falls out of the triple spin. Double layout, lands it a bit awkwardly but nothing severe. Front layout through to layout full, very nice. She can upgrade that for sure. Switch ring to switch full. Big double pike with a small hop to the side. Gets a nice wolf turn right at the end. Fab day for her! 12.500 (5.0, 7.500)

7. Naveen Daries RSA 36.900
8. Laurie Denommée CAN 36.550

9:32 am. Ondine Achampong ENG BB: Front walkover mount, split ring jump, both very nice. Front aerial to split jump to straddle jump, beautifully done. Oh no, and she’s off on the bhs loso loso! Side aerial to split ring leap, foot was flexed. Break at the hips at the end of her full turn. Cross split jump half. 2.5 dismount, crossed ankles in the air, hop forward. 12.500 (5.7, 6.800)

9:28 am. Georgia Godwin AUS BB: Hit her mount right into the front aerial to jump series, excellent and super solid! Bhs loso with a slight check and some leg form in the loso. Switch to side aerial to split jump, little form errors but nothing bad. Triple wolf turn goes really well. Double pike with a hop back. Really good routine! 13.750 (6.1, 7.650) – now she’s first with a 40.600!

9:26 am. Jea Maracha WAL FX: “I Dreamed a Dream!” Double spin, double pike had a step forward, good landing on the double tuck, chest just a little low. Switch ring to tour jeté half. Music changing to “Master of the House” which she introduced with a shimmy. DYING. The Thénardiers would be proud. Front layout full. Stag ring jump. She is amazing. 11.850 (4.4, 7.450)

9:23 am. Emma Spence CAN BB: Candle mount, clean double wolf turn, front aerial to split jump to wolf jump, excellent back pike series, solid side somi, switch leap to switch half to back handspring, fantastic. She is KILLING IT. Stuck the 1.5 dismount! 13.050 (5.2, 7.850) – moves her to first all-around!

9:21 am. Cara Kennedy SCO FX: Double layout, bounce back, but very strong! Front tuck through to double full, stuck, a little bit of a pike in the layout though. Great double tuck, excellent landing. Hop L turn through to switch full. Great routine! 12.200 (4.7, 7.500)

9:19 am. Shannon Archer SCO BB: Switch leap mount, very nice! Double spin, little check at the end but holds on well. Side aerial, split jump to straddle jump, great flight series, switch to switch half, a bit slow in the connection but very strong on both of them individually. 2.5 with a hop forward. This was mostly excellent! 12.700 (5.2, 7.500)

9:16 am. Ruthuja Nataraj IND FX: Split jump full. Full-in, forward on the landing and steps out of it but hit! Switch ring to switch half, maybe a little short in the latter. Front layout front full, loses her footing and ends up sitting it. Double tuck to her hands and knees as well. 9.800 (4.3, 5.500)

9:14 am. Laurie Denommée CAN BB: Hit a leap mount and a roundoff layout, very solid! Switch leap, pause there. Switch half to split jump, maybe a little shy in the split. Front aerial, misses a foot and comes off. Side aerial, a little off in the hip position, full turn, side somi with a slight check, cross split jump half, not at 180 and a break at the hips, front layout full with a hop. 10.900 (5.0, 5.900)

9:11 am. Alice Kinsella is still in the lead with a 38.550, nearly a point up from Poppy Stickler, but Ondine Achampong, Georgia Godwin, and the Canadians are still to come on beam.

9:10 am. I think we’re going into the touch for the second half now.

9:08 am. Emily Whitehead AUS BB: Good punch front. Switch leap to wolf jump. Bhs loso, some knee form in the latter and she lands it a bit forward with her chest down. Punch front is strong. Double wolf turn, some wobbles there, front aerial to split jump, side aerial, little bobble, nice 1.5 with a hop. 12.400 (4.8, 7.600)

9:06 am. Emma Yap SGP FX: Y turn at the beginning. Double pike with a good landing. Switch ring. Double tuck comes in a bit low and lands deep but no major issues. Split leap to tour jeté half. Wolf turn, 2.5 rotations, nice. Front layout full with a small hop. 11.850 (4.4, 7.450)

9:03 am. Caitlin Rooskrantz RSA BB: Switch leap mount is great. Side aerial, slight check. Wolf jump to split jump, small bobble as she slightly misses a foot there. Big pause before the bhs back pike, good landing! Tick tock down for her low to the beam work, double wolf turn is clean, switch to side somi, ends up quite low and grabs the beam. Cross split jump, lands it too far back and falls. 1.5 dismount with a hop. 10.850 (4.8, 6.050)

9:01 am. Tatiana Bachurina CYP FX: Double pike, deep landing, goes to her hands and knees. Split full. Front layout with a step forward. Really nice double spin! Switch ring to split ring leap, she has very nice dance elements. Layout full to finish her tumbling. Switch half at the end. 10.750 (4.2, 6.550)

8:59 am. Poppy Stickler WAL BB: Switch leap mount with a wobble. Good wolf turn. Switch leap to sissone, bhs loso is solid, just little form things here. Front aerial, slight check, side aerial is pretty strong, double full, chest is a bit low with a step. 12.150 (4.7, 7.450)

8:58 am. Tara Donnelly IOM FX: 2.5 to front tuck, step forward OOB, and then she lands the double pike a bit deep with steps back OOB. Hit a nice leap series. Double spin, loved how she landed it. Double tuck with a good landing, just a step. Popa. Switch half. 11.300 (4.7, 7.000, -0.4)

8:54 am. Alice Kinsella ENG BB: Switch leap mount, minor check but covers it well. Front aerial, oh no, side aerial, but then goes crooked into the loso and she just comes right off of the beam. Doesn’t get into a single loso. Does a back handspring when she gets back on, but she doesn’t have a flight series now. Double wolf turn. Switch leap, misses the connection, gets the switch half on its own with a bobble. Split jump to wolf jump. Double pike is deep with her chest at her knees. 11.000 (4.7, 6.400, -0.1 ND)

8:53 am. Naveen Daries RSA FX: They jumped into this super quickly so I missed the beginning. Didn’t sound like she had any falls or major issues though. Oh, I missed ALL of it, just saw the last bit of her dance. 12.700 (4.8, 7.900)

8:52 am. Rotation 2 Standings

1. Alice Kinsella ENG 27.550
2. Ondine Achampong ENG 27.150
3. Georgia Godwin AUS 26.850
4. Emma Spence CAN 26.500
5. Laurie Denommée CAN 25.650
6. Poppy Stickler WAL 25.550
7. Shannon Archer SCO 25.100
8. Caitlin Rooskrantz RSA 25.000

8:48 am. Cara Kennedy SCO BB: Super quick switch to switch side, some form breaks. Bhs loso with a break at the hips and she can’t hang on, unfortunately has a fall there. Switch 3/4 with a little bobble. Cross straddle jump with a bobble as well. Hit the dismount. 10.850 (4.5, 6.350)

8:46 am. Georgia Godwin AUS UB: Hop change to Weiler to Weiler half to Maloney to Pak to toe-on to van Leeuwen, great series. Short handstand before the blind change to piked Jaeger, nice distance from the bar, blind full is quite late, stuck the double layout! 13.550 (5.6, 7.950)

8:44 am. Emma Spence CAN UB: Great handstand before the toe full to Maloney to Pak (a bit arched in the air) to van Leeuwen, some leg form, great handstand before the blind change to straddle Jaeger, stuck double tuck! Great work. 12.950 (5.0, 7.950)

8:40 am. Shannon Archer SCO UB: Nice handstand before the Maloney to bail to toe-on, arches it over but controls it back before the toe shoot, but doesn’t get the momentum needed to reach the high bar and misses it, nooooo! Short handstand before the blind change to big straddle Jaeger, too close on the catch which causes a leg form break, blind full, and a full-twisting double layout with a hop. 11.400 (5.0, 6.400)

8:38 am. Ruthuja Nataraj IND BB: Bhs loso with a check, front aerial with a wobble, split jump to straddle jump, nice toe point. Side aerial is underrotated and she falls. Cat leap to switch leap. Full turn with a wobble. 1.5 with a small hop forward. 10.250 (4.3, 5.950)

8:37 am. Laurie Denommée CAN UB: Weiler half, misses toe-on out of it, gets the Maloney to Pak, short handstand before the van Leeuwen, another short handstand before the Gienger, blind full comes up late, tucked toe front half with a hop back. 12.450 (4.9, 7.550)

8:35 am. Milka Gehani SRI BB: Hit the punch front mount with a bit of a wobble. Roundoff back tuck, full turn with a wobble, switch leap, side aerial with a wobble, doesn’t connect to split jump to wolf jump, front aerial with a wobble, side somi with a big wobble but good fight, cross straight jump full, randomly wobbled a bit while walking hahaha noooo, front layout full dismount. 10.550 (4.7, 5.850)

8:32 am. Emily Whitehead AUS UB: Toe full, doesn’t make it to handstand at the start and has to jump off. It’s great the second try, to Maloney to Pak, van Leeuwen with some knee form, blind change to Khorkina, blind change and releases VERY low into the double front, I really didn’t think she was going to get that around, but she lands it, albeit super deep. Not sure if she touched the mat…looking at the replay now and yeah, her hands went down. 10.950 (4.8, 6.150)

8:31 am. Nadine Joy Nathan SGP BB: Punch front mount is great, switch half, side aerial loso, break at the hips but stays steady. Punch front tuck is solid. Switch leap with a low back leg, into a split to straddle jump, a little shy of 180. Great connections, though! Full turn, strong double full, this was great overall! The leaps are gonna get her though. 11.600

8:29 am. Emma Yap SGP BB: I wasn’t typing at the beginning of this but she came off on her flight series. Hit everything else pretty well, 1.5 dismount was stuck, just some form in the air. 11.500 (4.9, 6.600)

8:25 am. Tara Donnelly IOM BB: Full turn, nailed the bhs loso! Front aerial with a slight bobble, and then a bigger bobble going into some of her choreo, switch leap to split jump to wolf jump, a little low on a couple of those, side aerial with a slight check, switch half isn’t quite there but stable landing. 1.5 dismount stuck! Ooh, that’s excellent. 11.850 (4.5, 7.350)

8:22 am. Caitlin Rooskrantz RSA UB: Shaposh to pak, lovely. Great handstand before the van Leeuwen, oh no, she’s just a bit too far away and slips off. Back on and hit a Jaeger and Ray, blind full, and a full-out with a deep landing and lunge forward. 12.150 (5.3, 6.850)

8:21 am. Poppy Stickler WAL UB: Toe full, some form breaks, before Maloney to Pak, some flexed feet, van Leeuwen with some ankle form, blind change with leg separation into the piked Jaeger, rushed a handstand out of it, double tuck was nice, step back. 12.700 (4.9, 7.800)

8:18 am. Naveen Daries RSA BB: Big wobble on the switch leap mount, side aerial with a check, bhs loso with some leg form breaks, hit her leap series, Korbut, double wolf turn was lovely, split jump full, nice. Cross straddle jump. 1.5 with a big step over. 11.400 (4.7, 6.700)

8:13 am. Alice Kinsella ENG UB: Toe half to piked Jaeger, good handstand before the Ricna to Pak, very clean there. Great handstand before the Maloney to Gienger, some leg separation and not a ton of height, toe full to arabian dismount, good landing! Wow. Really long wait for her score. 13.700 (5.8, 8.200, -0.3 ND)

Not sure what the penalty was there? Someone just said she was still chalking up when the timer had gone green and either possibly didn’t notice or wasn’t quite ready, so she then ran over to salute quickly and mount but possibly was late to do so.

8:11 am. Ondine Achampong ENG UB: A little short in the handstand before the inbar to inbar half to straddle Jaeger, really nice, good handstand before the Downie to Pak, a bit of a break in her form and she catches a bit close, full pirouette, doesn’t connect to the Chow, short handstand before giants to full-out, chest at her knees with a lunge forward. 13.250 (6.0, 7.250)

8:10 am. Jea Maracha WAL BB: Jump to a split for her mount, double wolf turn, little bobbles, bhs loso with some knee form, front aerial with a pause into the split jump to Korbut, side aerial a little short with a bobble, lovely scale in her choreo, switch to sissone, a little slow in the connection, 1.5 with a little bounce forward. 12.200 (4.6, 7.600)

8:09 am. Rotation 1 Standings

1. Ondine Achampong 13.900
2. Alice Kinsella 13.850
3. Shannon Archer 13.700
4. Emma Spence 13.550
5. Georgia Godwin 13.300

8:08 am. Touch happening for rotation two now!

8:04 am. Nadine Joy Nathan SGP UB: Going back to watch her routine, blind change to straddle Jaeger, a little close, bail was good, arched on the toe-on before the toe shoot, short handstand back on the high bar, blind full, and a tucked toe front half dismount, good! 12.050 (4.4, 7.650)

8:02 am. They’ve stopped showing pretty much everyone on bars, but finally we’re back over there now that vault is done!

Ruthuja Nataraj IND UB: Toe-on to Ray, misses the catch. Back on for a bail (a little short) to toe shoot, caught close and goes into a dead hang, kip cast back to handstand before a blind change to front half, blind full, and a layout dismount, stuck. 10.000

Other bars scores…

Nadine Joy Nathan 12.050
Emma Yap 10.850
Milka Gehani 10.500

8:01 am. Emma Spence CAN VT: Yurchenko 1.5, the best forward-facing vault we’ve seen in this final in terms of her body position on the landing! A little bend in her knees in the air but her chest position is in a perfect place on the landing, just a small hop forward. 13.550 (4.6, 8.950)

7:59 am. Shannon Archer SCO VT: DTY, mostly strong form in the air, just minor separation and bend, mostly in the second rotation. Not the landing she had yesterday, but the hop back isn’t bad at all, maybe a foot or two. 13.700 (5.0, 8.700)

7:58 am. Laurie Denommée CAN VT: Yurchenko 1.5, opposite problem of Whitehead, leaning a bit forward on the landing and takes a huge hop forward. In the air her knees are pretty soft as well. 13.200 (4.6, 8.600)

7:56 am. Emily Whitehead AUS VT: Yurchenko 1.5, lands with her feet too far ahead of her, and has to take several steps back to keep it upright, kind of similar to what happened with Godwin, but her steps are much more severe, two really big lunges back off the mat. 12.450 (4.6, 8.150, -0.3)

7:55 am. Caitlin Rooskrantz RSA VT: FTY, good form in the air, legs look good, just pikes down a bit near the end, hop and lunge back out on the landing. 12.850 (4.2, 8.650)

7:53 am. Tatiana Bachurina CYP UB: Straddle Jaeger was nice, toe full to Pak, ugh, a bit close and she has to pause on the bar and kip cast back to handstand, then arches that over and comes off. Toe shoot, and a double tuck with a small hop. 10.900 (4.5, 6.400)

7:51 am. Touch warmups for the second half of this rotation.

The English are in the lead at the moment, with a 13.9 for Achampong and a 13.85 for Kinsella, and then it’s Godwin with 13.3 and Stickler with 12.85.

7:49 am. Naveen Daries RSA UB: Toe full to Maloney to Gienger, some hip and leg form, blind change to big straddle Jaeger, very nice, hip form on the swing into the Pak is a little off, toe-on to toe shoot, and a layout double full with a good landing. Her hips just need to be straighter on basically everything, I bet she’s getting hammered on that, and without those deductions this routine would score so well! 12.800 (5.1, 7.700)

7:48 am. Tara Donnelly IOM UB: Blind change to piked Jaeger, a bit close and she tucks her legs, blind full, Pak, nice. Break at the hips in a handstand before turning into the toe shoot but she does an amazing job to pull back up into handstand, amazing fight. Double tuck dismount with a step. 11.100 (4.1, 7.000)

7:46 am. Poppy Stickler WAL VT: FTY, lots of power off the table, big lunge back, but looked really clean in the air, just a slight pike down. 12.850 (4.2, 8.650)

7:45 am. Alice Kinsella ENG VT: DTY, some leg separation onto the table, mostly good in the air, though. Legs look pretty glued? Just some slight knee bend. Hop back. 13.850 (5.0, 8.850)

7:43 am. Jea Maracha WAL UB: Good handstand before the van Leeuwen, leg form there, blind change to piked Jaeger, some knee form, bail to stalder to a great handstand to toe-on to toe shoot, nice, blind full has a bit of an adjustment, and then a double tuck with a small step. Great routine! 12.400 (4.6, 7.800)

7:42 am. Ondine Achampong ENG VT: DTY, very nice in the air, a little forward on the landing with a lunge forward as well. Just loses some leg form as she goes through the twists but mostly at the ankles, nothing super severe. 13.900 (5.0, 8.900)

7:41 am. Cara Kennedy SCO UB: Good handstand before the blind change to front half, Pak with some leg separation, clear hip half to toe shoot, she looks a lot cleaner than yesterday! Good handstand before a solid blind full to double tuck, little bounce. Not her strongest event but again the improvement was excellent. 11.450 (3.5, 7.950)

7:40 am. Georgia Godwin AUS VT: Tsuk 1.5, lands it a bit deep and has to take several steps back out of it to stay upright. Not as solid as yesterday, but at least she didn’t sit. 13.300 (4.8, 8.500)

7:39 am. Touch looks like it’s just wrapping up now.

7:36 am. Starting on vault – Godwin, Achampong, Kinsella, Stickler, Rooskrantz, Whitehead, Denommée, Archer, Spence

Starting on bars – Kennedy, Maracha, Daries, Donnelly, Bachurina, Yap, Nathan, Gehani, Nataraj

7:35 am. Athletes are being introduced now!

7:31 am. Little performance here before the athletes march out. I think this business took about 10 minutes yesterday with the performance, the march out, and the touch. Why not do all of this 10 minutes *before* the start time?

7:27 am. Well, I TRIED to make the MAG all-around final happen but when my alarm went off at 1:45 am after going to bed at 11 pm I just laughed and didn’t even bother with hitting snooze. Why don’t time zones respect me???

Jake Jarman ended up winning gold ahead of James Hall, which is very exciting for him! And then Marios Georgiou, who won a historic bronze with his team, won the all-around bronze as well, just slightly ahead of Felix Dolci of Canada in fourth place. No major surprises there, and it was nice to see Felix look stronger than he did in qualifications, where he had a couple mistakes.
