Zizo, who was one of Zamalek’s standout performers in their triumphant league campaign last season, converted a debatable penalty on the stroke of halftime before whipping an inviting cross for substitute Omar El-Said to wrap up the win five minutes from time.
El-Said returned to Zamalek in the summer after spending last season on loan at Gouna.
Enppi launched some dangerous counterattacks but could not keep a vibrant Zamalek attack at bay, with the White Knights joining Future FC, NBE club and Arab Contractors on top of the table.
Seifeddine Jaziri was Zamalek’s liveliest performer in the first half, going close on two occasions as Zamalek’s pressing high up the pitch caused constant menace to Enppi.

The Tunisian forward had a close-range sliding effort blocked by keeper Mahmoud Gad after a threaded pass from Achraf Bencharki and fired a shot just over the bar after turning past his marker.
Despite Zamalek’s dominance, Enppi wasted a golden chance to go ahead in the first-half’s stoppage time when a mix-up between defender Mahmoud Alaa and keeper Mohamed Abou-Gabal rolled the ball to Nigerian striker Dinopeter Airaodion, who missed the target with the goal at his mercy.
Zamalek were awarded a penalty just before halftime when forward Youssef Ibrahim appeared to have been tripped as he tried to control a floated ball into the area. However, television replays suggested that an Enppi defender had made contact with the ball.

Zizo, Zamalek’s spot-kick specialist, lashed his shot high into the net to end the resistance of Enppi.
The Cairo giants retreated for long spells in the second half and Enppi had some fine efforts, with Abou-Gabal tipping over a header from Mohamed Ismail and Airaodion going close with a fierce volley.

However, El-Said killed off their hopes with a powerful close-range header after being found unmarked by Zizo’s cross.
