What does a perfect transfer window for Manchester United look like?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signing a new Manchester United contract is a coherent picture of where the club stands.

By the time he took over as the interim manager, Manchester United were in absolute chaos. The club lacked structure, the dressing room was scattered and the players were just not exhibiting enough confidence.

And while the lack of trophies has eluded the Norweigan to achieve a top stature, one cannot overlook the fundamental changes the club has seen during his tenure.

Solskjaer has played a big role in luring players like Harry Maguire, Edinson Cavani and Jadon Sancho, and the 48-year-old has no plan of stopping. It is evident that the squad is being built to play the ‘United Way’ and the manager is taking no prisoners in fulfilling his promise.

As things stand, the club is keen on solving the defensive crisis and for that, Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has been identified as one of the targets. And while United are currently negotiating with Real, they do have other decisions to take note of as well. This includes the future of their star midfielder, Paul Pogba, who is a subject of interest for Paris Saint-Germain.

If Pogba is to leave, United just cannot afford to make the same mistake they did after Romelu Lukaku departed for Inter. The Belgian leaving United was indeed the best move for all parties, but not signing a replacement dented United’s aspirations of challenging for the title.

With so much to look forward to, we shed light on what kind of business would yield the best results for Manchester United in the transfer market.
