West Bromwich Albion have signed Adam Reach on a free transfer until Summer 2024 after the winger left Sheffield Wednesday last month.

Reach joins the Baggies on a three-year contract until June 2024 following his decision to depart Sheffield Wednesday last month, upon expiry of his contract as the Owls suffered relegation to League One at end of 2020-21 Sky Bet Championship season after a final day showdown.

Speaking on his move to The Hawthorns, Reach described West Brom as “a very ambitious club,” who are looking for instant promotion back to the Premier League, having also suffered relegation at end of last season as he prepares for a 11th consecutive season of Championship football.

The 28 year-old also spoke of his ambitions to finally secure and play Premier League football, having missed out in 2016-17 season after departing Middlesbrough for Sheffield Wednesday, commenting: “I share those ambitions of wanting to play in the Premier League.

“It’s the most exciting challenge of my career and it’s certainly the biggest challenge of my career.”

Having also endured loan spells at Darlington, Shrewsbury Town, Bradford City and Preston North End during his time at Boro, Reach has amassed plenty of experience across six different clubs after scoring 42 goals in 394 appearances across all competitions.

Reach therefore is keen to add to his experience in the West Midlands as he prepares for his second spell at a southern team, adding: “I pride myself on making a lot of appearances for clubs. I want to make plenty of appearances here and have my best years here. I just cant wait to get started.”

This weekend sees the new 2021-22 Sky Bet Championship season get underway on Friday 6 August as Reach and West Brom visit Bournemouth in the season-opener, with the match exclusively live on Sky Sports with kick-off set for 7:45pm BST UK Time.
