Week Ten – Wolves vs Everton – Sport Grill

Wolves welcome Everton to Molineux in Monday Night Football as both teams look to move closer towards the European qualification battle.

Victory would move Wolves up to seventh in the table whereas Everton can climb up to sixth with a win.

Marcal remains ruled out after a calf injury forced him to miss Wolves’ 1-1 draw at Leeds last weekend.

Jonny, Pedro Neto (both knee), Yerson Mosquera and Hugo Bueno (both hamstring) remain ruled out.

Everton could welcome Andre Gomes back from a calf injury.

Yerry Mina (hamstring) and Fabian Delph (shoulder) are also set to be in contention but Abdoulaye Doucoure (foot) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (quad) remain ruled out.

Stat Attack

  • Wolves have won two of their last five meetings against Everton (W2, L3).
  • Everton are unbeaten in four of their last five visits to Molineux (W2, D2, L1).
  • Two of three red cards in this fixture in 14 previous Premier League meetings have been shown to Wolves players.
  • No Wolves player has produced more crosses this season than Marcal, who has delivered 33 crosses in eight league appearances.
  • Andros Townsend have converted nine of his 15 shots onto target for Everton this season.

Prediction

Having delivered a clinical performance in which they performed well across the pitch at Leeds last weekend, Wolves will feel hard done to have not gotten the win after a late defensive error but there is plenty of positives which they can take into this game in terms of attack.

Everton meanwhile were a proper mixed bag in their loss to Watford last time out because they were excellent on the flanks but wasted chances despite scoring, whilst their defence proved their downfall with terrible defending against counter-attacks and set pieces.

On that note, I do expect a cracking contest because both teams should have enough quality in them to deliver an attacking display but I have a feeling that Wolves should have enough in them to snatch a win if are clinical enough.

Prediction: Wolves 2-1 Everton
