Man United protests

Since the fiasco of last week’s Super League birth and collapse, fans across the UK of the Big Six clubs have been protesting against their owners.

Specifically Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all had highly publicised organised events around their stadia.

101‘s social team travelled to Old Trafford to get exclusive insight into the protests, to show supporters who couldn’t attend what the atmosphere was like and speak to fans there who feel aggrieved at how they have been treated.

Solskjaer backs Glazers

Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer higher risk to the backlash of supporters by speaking out positively of the Glazer owners.

When asked about his relationship with the ownership he replied saying that they have been very supportive of him and that he holds a good relationship.

“I’ve had an open and good relationship with them [the Glazers] and they’ve been very supportive of me, they’ve backed me. It’s all about improving the club, the infrastructure, the facilities and the squad. I am very confident they will remain committed,” said the Norwegian coach.

It is not surprising to see the club employee speak highly of his superiors for obvious reasons.

Mikel Arteta said very similar of the Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke when recently quizzed on his relationship with them.

“No, I feel very supported by everybody at the club,” Arteta said when asked if he felt let down by the owners.

“I feel privileged, again, and I will say it loud and clear, again, the way we have dealt with this pandemic internally with all the issues that we had in recent months, there have been loads and unprecedented for this football club, internally and externally, I still see everybody coming here with a smile on their faces and proud to represent this football club.

“This for me is a big achievement and something I’m really proud about because everybody is contributing to that, from the top to the bottom of the club.”

Arsenal and Manchester United supporters will be hoping that change is in the near future.

Despite this though, The likelihood is that little will change between now and the end of the season at minimum.

Glazers want £4bn

It has been reported by The Mirror that the Glazers £4 billion to sell the club.

There are certainly individuals out there who could stump up the cash to acquire the club but they must be found.

The price tag is said to be derived from the club’s stature, history, success and financial and commercial standing in global sport.
