Struggling Ghana Premier League side WAFA have watered down reports claiming defender Konadu Yiadom has signed a pre-contract with Hearts of Oak.
Yiadom, 21, is still contracted to the Sogakope-based side and cannot agree to terms with another club, according to Selorm Fiador the Supervisor of Administrative roles at the WAFA Youth side.
Alhaji Akanbi, who is a board member of the Rainbow club, and National Chapters Committee PRO Jones Asante Nfodwo have gone public to declare the acquisition of the sought-after defender who can play across various positions at the backline.
But, WAFA have reacted to the claims and debunked the reports.
“No, that one I can tell you categorically that it’s not true,” Selorm told ghanasportspage.com in an exclusive interview on Friday. The boy hasn’t signed any contract with Accra Hearts of Oak, and he is still within a contract. He is not out of contract,” he stressed.
