Everton legend Tim Cahill has sent a good luck message to new Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou, whilst promising supporters their latest manager will give his ‘heart and soul’ to the job.
Postecoglou has finally touched down in Scotland to take over as Neil Lennon ‘s permanent replacement after being forced to isolate in London for 10 days, and he held his first press conference alongside chief executive Dominic McKay on Friday afternoon.
Fans were keeping a close eye on the events at Celtic Park and the onlookers included Cahill, who played under Postecoglou for the Australian national side.
Cahill scored one of the World Cup’s greatest-ever goals against the Netherlands whilst working with Postecoglou back in 2014, and he seems delighted to see his former colleague finally take a job in European football:
Postecoglou has friendlies lined-up against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton in the coming weeks but his first competitive test will come on July 20 when the Hoops take on Danish cracks FC Midtjylland in the Champions League’s second qualifying round.
