Players warming up their bodies before last training at King George IV Stadium in Tororo on Monday

Competition: Uganda Premier League

Game week: 27

Date: MYDA FC Vs BUL FC

Venue: King George IV Stadium, Tororo

Kick Off: 4:00pm

It’s exactly 3 weeks since BUL Football Club last played a league game before switching to Stanbic Uganda Cup and then international break.

It’s either an advantage in disguise for Alex Isabirye’s men to take chance and beat Malaba relegation-bound side, MYDA FC with flesh legs or maintain their bottom redline fight on.

BUL FC did beat MYDA 4-1 in Bugembe at Kyabazinga stadium and they will need to replicate the same performance if they’re to complete a double against them in Tororo.

Time for work

Coach Alex’s team is motivated.

Players pose for a photo on a rocky island in Jinja at River Nile’s Busowoko falls

Well, from a 3day retreat in Lugazi as his inaugural training session to let him learn players behaviour further to traveling two days prior to match-days for all our distant matches like in Masindi (verses Kitara), Kabale (in Uganda Cup vs Kigezi Home Boys) now to Tororo but most importantly to note is the latest outing where they treated all  players to an outing away in Busowoko falls on the Nile just to change their usual living environment. That’s him (Alex Isabirye). But, I mean what happens in Hollywood…remains in Hollywood

Team news

In the sickbay remains the two longtime absentees in Ambrose Kirya and Hamis Tibita (both with knee discomforts).

While Robert Mukongotya and Dennis Okot Oola are just returning having sustained injuries during Uganda Cup game against Kigezi Home Boys and they did not travel to Malaba.

Key match facts

  • This would be the second competitive match between the two sides. The visitors won 4-1 in first round
  • Both teams are coached by different coaches now as opposed to those who handled the first round bout. Arthur Kyesimira (BUL FC) and Musafiri Abdulsamadu (MYDA FC) all these left.
  • MYDA have at least scored in three of their previous five games at home. The other games they failed to net in a goal were against Vipers Sc (0-4) and Soltilo Bright Stars (0-3)
  • The visitors BUL FC have at least scored a goal or so in any of their previous five games away in all competition.
  • This is Alex Isabirye’s 10th game in charge in all competitions. (W4, D2, L3)

What he said:

Head coach Alex Isabirye

“Am optimistic we shall perform better in our game against MYDA FC. Yes,we beat them 4-1 at home but they’re a changed side in second round.”

“Now they would lose a game but not so easily like it used to be in the first round. They put up a fight to give opponent value for money.”

“They’re dangerous team now since they have nothing to lose or fight for. But I have warned my players as well.” Alex Isabirye
