Spurs ‘in pole position’ to sign Bayern Munich star on free transfer – report

Tottenham are favourites to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso on a free transfer next summer, according to reports in Italy.

Tolisso, who was part of France’s World Cup-winning squad in 2018, is out of contract at the end of the season and could be on the move.

And Italian outlet Football Italia is claiming Spurs are currently ‘in pole position’ to sign the 27-year-old for nothing when he becomes a free agent in a few months.

The Londoners are said to be ahead of Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma in the race to sign Tolisso, whose €6m-a-year salary demands are apparently putting off those Serie A clubs.

The report goes on to say that Tottenham director of football Fabio Paratici tried to sign Tolisso for Juventus in 2017 only to see him leave Lyon for Bayern instead.

But it looks like it won’t be long until Paratici finally gets his man, if Football Italia’s story is to be believed.

Spurs could certainly do with upgrades and reinforcements in central midfield, so the link makes plenty of sense – though it’s too early to say whether it will definitely happen.
