Spoils shared in Gombe six-goal thriller as Kano Pillars move to the top of NPFL standings 9ja Flavour

Adamawa United were held to a 3-3 draw by visiting Warri Wolves at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe after a thrilling game that saw the home side equalise three times. Stanley Otu opened the scoring for the Seasiders inside two minutes before Anayo Ogbonna equalised for Adamawa United. Williams Sunday put the visitors in front again, and Ogbonna once again got the equaliser for Adamawa United. Efe Yarhere thought he had won it for Warri Wolves when he put them in the lead for the third time, but Adamawa United captain Idris Abubakar scored an equaliser from outside the box to draw the game level. Both teams remain in the drop zone, but this was an improved performance that would undoubtedly have impressed their coaches.

Katsina United and Kano Pillars played out a 1-1 draw at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina. Pillars goalkeeper, Suraj Ayeleso pulled off a penalty save to deny Rasheed Ahmed an opener. Legendary Pillars midfielder Rabiu Ali opened the scoring for the visitor with a brilliant freekick that went in off the underside of the crossbar before Rasheed Ahmed scored an equaliser for the hosts. The result meant that Pillars climb to the top of the log having played a game more than second-placed Akwa United who are one point behind them.

Rivers United saw their 100% home record come to an end as they were held to a 0-0 draw by a resilient Abia Warriors outfit at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium. Abia Warriors keeper, Edafe Vincent had a very good game between the sticks for the Umuahia Landlords.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah marked their return to the Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sunshine Stars, ending their 10-game winless run in the NPFL. Ekene Awazie scored the only goal as the home side picked up all three points from the game, although they remain in 19th place. Sunshine Stars are now winless in 15 games in the NPFL this season.

Jigawa Golden Stars had their stars to thank as they drew 1-1 at home to Dakkada FC. Solomon Chigozie had given the visitors a deserved lead before Richard Christopher scored a penalty in second half added time to salvage a point for the home side.

MFM FC defeated Lobi Stars 1-0 at the Soccer Temple in Agege thanks to a first half strike from Imeh Atobasi. The result takes MFM into 11th place, two places behind their opponents on the log.

Nasarawa United defeated Heartland 3-1 at the Lafia Township Stadium. Aliyu Abdullahi opened the scoring for the home side before Chijioke Akuneto equalised for the visitors. Abdullahi scored again to restore the lead before Martins Owolijah scored to seal the result for Nasarawa, who move up to 4th on the log.

Plateau United hammered Wikki Tourists 4-1 at the New Jos Stadium. Ibrahim Mustapha Yuga opened the scoring for the home side within 4 minutes before Jibrin Abubakar equalised for Wikki. Mohammed Zilkifilu scored a brace and Oche Ochowechi added a fourth as Plateau United won convincingly.
