Sheffield United star Aaron Ramsdale tipped to play for one of Premier League’s biggest clubs one day amid Arsenal transfer links

Asmir Begovic insists Aaron Ramsdale has the ability to play for the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

The Sheffield United goalkeeper has been linked with a £30million move to the Gunners this summer.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Ramsdale

Despite suffering relegation from the Premier League with the Blades, Ramsdale’s form was good enough to earn him a place in the England squad for Euro 2020 following an injury to Dean Henderson.

Only West Brom’s Sam Johnstone made more saves (166) than Ramsdale (147) in the top-flight last season.

And Begovic is backing his former Bournemouth teammate to star in the Premier League for years to come.

The new Everton goalkeeper told talkSPORT: “He can become one of the best, especially in the country.

“He’s already proved that he can play at the highest level. He’s got a lot of potential still to fulfil.

“The more he plays, the more he’s going to progress. So I’m not surprised to see him linked with some of the top clubs.

“What he’s done over the last couple of years shows everyone the quality he has.

“With his age, where he’s at, the potential is there to become an even better goalkeeper.”

Meanwhile, former Man City and England midfielder Trevor Sinclair has slammed Arsenal’s transfer policy.

The Gunners sold Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa for just £17million last summer and the goalkeeper starred in his debut season in the Midlands.

Sinclair told talkSPORT: “I don’t get it. We’ve said before, Emi Martinez going to Villa, why? He was playing superbly well for Arsenal.

“They’ve allowed their best goalkeeper to leave and now they are chasing their tail to get someone in to replace [Bernd] Leno.

“I don’t understand how Arsenal are being run as a football club. That Emi Martinez one should have never gone through.

“They should have let them fight it out for the No.1 jersey and keep it honest. They’ve not done that and he’s been superb at Villa.

“It would be a great move for Ramsdale. A huge club in Arsenal. It’s quite a big fee, but when you’ve got Arsenal players training with him, they’ll see his quality and will reinforce what Mikel Arteta feels about him.”
