Sevilla consider Gaëtan Laborde to solve their problems upfront

As reported by Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla are in the market for a new striker.

Los Nervionenses lost their first game of the 2022/23 La Liga season against Osasuna and only managed to achieve a 1-1 draw versus Valladolid this past weekend.

Even though Rafa Mir managed to score against Valladolid, he missed a lot of chances in the first half. With Tecatito Corona’s long-term injury, Sevilla are keen to bring in reinforcements upfront.

According to sources close to Estadio Deportivo, the Andalucían side are seriously considering to make an offer for Laborde. The Frenchman was on the club’s radar last summer as well, but he ended up being signed from Montpellier by Stade Rennais for €15 million.

Laborde scored 20 goals in 47 games for Rennes last season and played a key role in helping the club reach the Europa League. It is very unlikely that the Ligue 1 outfit will let him go for anything less than they purchased him for.
