BUENOS AIRES, June 18 (Xinhua) — Sarmiento rose to seventh in Argentina’s Primera Division standings on Saturday with a 3-1 home victory over Patronato.

Franco Quinteros opened the scoring for the hosts with a long-range effort on the half-hour mark before Diego Garcia equalized with a 20-yard drive in the 42nd minute.

Jonathan Herrera missed the chance to put Patronato ahead by sending a penalty attempt wide on the stroke of halftime.

Raul Lozano then gifted Sarmiento the lead when he inadvertently turned the ball into his own net after the restart.

Patronato’s fortunes took another turn for the worse when Leonel Mosevich was sent off for a second yellow card in the 64th minute.

Javier Toledo put the result beyond doubt with a low 90th minute finish as Sarmiento secured their second win in four games so far this season.

In Saturday’s only other Primera Division match, Talleres Cordoba drew 1-1 at Arsenal Sarandi.
