Rivers United have been knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup at the last qualifying round on away goal rule after an aggregate 2-2 score to Al Masry on Sunday.
United went into the second leg clash against Al Masry with a 2-1 home win against Egyptian club but failed to do enough to progress to the group stages.
Al Masry who got an way goal in the first leg did what just they needed to do to qualify at the expense of Rivers United.
A solitary goal from Mohamed Grendo in the 14th minutes of the game was enough to hand Al Masry a 1-0 win and the ticket into the group stages.
In the other game involving Nigerian representative at the African football competition, Enyimba did just enough to secure a 2-0 home win against Al Ittihad on Sunday.
Goals from Sadiq Abubakar in the 21st minutes and Victor Mbaoma in the 34th minute handed Enyimba the 2-0 first leg win.
CAF will fix a new date for the second leg of the game between Enyimba and Al Ittihad after last week traveling controversy.
