Milan have already agreed personal terms with Olivier Giroud but now need Chelsea to release him, while Hakim Ziyech and Bakayoko are also targets.

The Rossoneri will start the preparations for the new season on July 8 and Paolo Maldini & Frederic Massara are working to try and find reinforcements.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Mario Mandžukić have left the club with expiring contract, while Soualiho Meïté was sent back to Torino after his loan spell. Mike Maignan has already been signed to replace Gigio, but Milan are looking for a new trequartista, striker and defensive midfielder, among other positions, such as right winger and fullback.

For the striker position, Olivier Giroud is the number one target. As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, personal terms have already been agreed for a while between Milan and the Frenchman: a two-year contract worth €3.5m which can rise to €5m if certain bonuses are met.

The obstacle now is Chelsea, who renewed the contract of Giroud for one more year. His agents are trying to release him for free but so far there hasn’t been progress. Milan would only take the 35-year-old if he’s a free agent and if not then the alternative is Luka Jović on loan – provided that Real Madrid would be open to the idea to sending the 23-year-old Serbian to Milan on loan.

Di Marzio reports that Giroud is not the only player that has Milan’s interest from Chelsea. Hakim Ziyech, the 28-year-old, and Tiémoué Bakayoko, who was already at Milan on loan before, are two targets as well. As a result, it’s possible that at the beginning of next week there will be a meeting between Milan and Chelsea to discuss all three players and see if a package deal can be made.

Meanwhile, talks for Sandro Tonali with Brescia have worked out well and all that’s missing is signatures. Tonali will join Milan permanently; it remains to be seen who from Chelsea will join him.
