RMC Sport report that 21-year-old Swedish international midfielder Jean Cajuste has formally asked his current club, Danish side FC Midtjylland, to allow him to join Ligue 1 side Rennes.
SRFC have had an opening €10m + €1m in bonuses offer knocked back for the youngster, with the Danish outfit holding out for €15m including bonuses.
Talks are ongoing but SRFC would like to make some sales before finalising the deal.
Midfielder James Léa-Siliki has been placed onto the transfer list and has contacts with Getafe, Watford and Brest.
The 25-year-old is under contract with Rennes until 2023, but is currently training apart from the 1st team group as he prepares to exit.
