HARRISON, N.J. -The New York Red Bulls (1-0-0, 3 pts.) head up North to battle Toronto FC (0-0-1, 1 pts.) on Saturday, March 5. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG, MSG GO, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
Coverage on MSG begins at 1:30 p.m. ET with the Red Bulls Pregame show. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 1 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 1:30 p.m. ET.
The Red Bulls opened their 2022 MLS season with a 3-1 win against San Jose Earthquakes on February 26 and will look to win their first two matches of the season for the fifth time in franchise history. New York is unbeaten in their last four season openers on the road and began the season with a road victory for the first time since 2017. Toronto FC kicked their season off against FC Dallas and tied 1-1 on the road, where midfielder Jonathan Osorio scored the game-tying goal.
New York and Toronto FC will battle for the 37th time in the regular season. New York leads the regular season series with a 18-9-9 record, while Toronto holds a 7-4-7 mark at BMO Field. Forward Patryk Klimala became the 27th different player in 27 seasons to score the first goal of the season for New York. He tallied his ninth career goal for New York and his sixth on the road. The Polish striker scored the last time New York played Toronto, which was his first career match against the club.
Following Saturday’s match, New York hosts Minnesota United FC in their 2022 home opener on Sunday, March 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on MSG, MSG GO, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
