Real Sociedad’s stance on Alexander Isak is bad news for Arsenal

A report from Spanish source Mundo Deportivo claims that La Liga side Real Sociedad have made their stance clear on the future of striker Alexander Isak, and it’s bad news for Arsenal ahead of transfer deadline day.

Real Sociedad are demanding that any club will have to activate the €90m release clause in the Swedish striker’s contract, if they are to open transfer talks, any less will be rebuffed. The expectation is now that Isak will stay in Spain until at last the summer.

Arsenal have struggled to secure a big name striker signing this January, having missed out on top target Dušan Vlahović to Juventus.

The club’s current transfer record spend is just north of £70m on Nicolas Pepe – a deal that hasn’t quite panned out the way the club and supporters would have expected.
