RB Leipzig reject Bayern Munich’s final offer for Konrad Laimer

RB Leipzig have rejected a final approach from Bayern Munich for Konrad Laimer (25).

As reported by Bild, Bayern Munich submitted an offer of €24m including bonuses for Laimer. Leipzig would receive a guaranteed €20m plus €2m if Bayern win the league and a further €2m for the Champions League.

Laimer has entered the final year of his contract and is against signing a contract extension, meaning the Austria international can join Bayern Munich on a free transfer in 2023.

Leipzig have remained strong on their stance not to sell Laimer this summer, especially direct to a league rival.

Speaking in July, Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff stated that the Bundesliga side would be reluctant to give Laimer up and given their financial situation, were also open to the possibility of the Austrian remaining at the club this season and thus not collecting a transfer fee for the player next summer.

Laimer has played two of Leipzig’s four games this season after recovering from an ankle injury.
