Preston North End will host North-West rivals, Liverpool at Deepdale in the standout tie from the Fourth Round draw for 2021-22 Carabao Cup.

Frankie McAvoy’s Lilywhites qualified for this stage after comfortably dispatching League One’s Cheltenham Town 4-1 in the Third Round, whilst Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool thrashed Premier League rivals – Norwich City 3-0 at Carrow Road to book their place in this round.

This clash at Deepdale also represents the first time that Preston will face Liverpool in the League Cup, although their last clash here in January 2009 saw the Merseyside team win 2-0 in the Third Round of 2008-09 FA Cup.

West Ham United meanwhile will take on Manchester based opposition for the second consecutive round, having been drawn at home to Man City after Manuel Lanzini’s ninth minute winner proved enough to knock out Man Utd away at Old Trafford in David Moyes’ first away win over his former team since his sacking in April 2014.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester and Burnley have been handed home encounters against Premier League rivals, Southampton, Leeds, Brighton and Tottenham respectively in all top-flight ties.

Stoke City look to chase a second consecutive Quarter-Final appearance in this competition as they seek to cause a cupset, after being drawn at home to Brentford at BET365 Stadium with Thomas Frank’s Bees themselves looking to mount another cup run after reaching the last four last season.

QPR’s reward for dumping out Everton on penalties is a home tie against League One’s Sunderland.

All eight Fourth Round ties are scheduled to be played across the midweek of 26-27 October 2021 and full details of who drew who in the next round can be found below.
