December 15, 2021 – Major League Soccer (MLS) – Philadelphia Union News Release
CHESTER, Pa. – Philadelphia Union today announced the launch of Philadelphia Union U-Serve, presented by BIMBO Bakeries USA, a first of its kind volunteer rewards program that allows fans to receive exclusive Union experiences and prizes in exchange for volunteer hours with local and national community partners. Furthering the Union’s commitment to community, U-Serve will partner with local organizations that benefit Chester and Philadelphia communities including Philabundance, American Red Cross, American Heart Association, CityTeam Chester, Ronald McDonald House, and more.
“I am incredibly proud to launch U-Serve alongside our long-standing partner, BIMBO, and with so many fantastic community partners that are making huge impacts in our region,” said Tim McDermott, Philadelphia Union President. “We’re excited to incorporate our fanbase in this program and reward them with exclusive experiences for making a difference. The legacy we leave off the field is just as important as the work we do on the field.”
“At Bimbo Bakeries USA, we strongly believe in giving back to our local communities,” said Dana Connors, Vice President-Corporate Affairs, Bimbo Bakeries USA. “We are proud to broaden our partnership with the Philadelphia Union on this new, unique initiative and to see more fans get involved in volunteering.”
Current community partners offering U-Serve volunteer opportunities include:
Philabundance
American Red Cross
American Heart Association
CityTeam Chester
Ronald McDonald House
Ryan’s Case for Smiles
Fans can enroll at www.u-serve.org where volunteer opportunities will appear from different community partners throughout the greater Philadelphia area. Once volunteer hours are complete and logged, users will accumulate points. The points can then be used for experiences like a day at team training, shopping sprees, tickets, and merch. All fans who register will receive a Philadelphia Union U-Serve t-shirt. Philadelphia Union staff will also log hours throughout the year to serve the community and earn points for local youth to redeem.
