Orlando Pirates will be without no fewer than SEVEN players for their Saturday’s Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs.

According to Bucs interim co-coach Mandla Ncikazi, two goalkeepers in Richard Ofori and Wayne Sandilands are still struggling with injuries.

Furthermore, there are long-term injuries to players such as Thembinkosi Lorch, Zakhele Lepasa, Innocent Maela and Vincent Pule.
In addition to the long list, Happy Jele has been ruled out of the Soweto Derby as he’s just undergone operation, Ncikazi confirmed.

Ncikazi didn’t mention centre-back Olisa Ndah who sustained a knock in Pirates’ previous match against Sekhukhune United.
And what this could mean is that the Nigeria international may be available for selection against Chiefs.

“Please forgive me if I forget some, that’s how much we have in terms of injuries,” Ncikazi told reporters.
“Ofori is still out, Sandilands is recovering from an injury, Maela is still out, Jele is out, he has done his operation,” he confirmed.

“Lepasa is going through rehab, Lorch is also going through rehab,” he said.
“There is a whole team list that is on the outside without complaining, we just take pre-destination and assume why so many?

“But it happens in every club; it’s something extraordinary but we’re going to go through and maybe good things are going to follow after the injuries,” concluded Ncikazi.
