Andrea Conti has left Milan for the final time and he’ll try to relaunch his career at Sampdoria with Roberto D’Aversa.

Conti joined Milan from Atalanta in 2017 for a reported fee of €24 million plus Matteo Pessina, with the title of being one of the best fullbacks in Italy.

However, injuries completely changed the career of the Italian, who in his first season suffered an ACL injury, which he never really bounced back from.

With his contract due to expire in June, Conti and Milan have chosen to part ways in the January mercato: “Milan announces that Andrea Conti has signed for U.C. Sampdoria on a permanent basis,” a statement reads. “The Club would like to thank Andrea for the commitment and professionalism that he’s always displayed and wishes him the very best for the future, both personally and professionally.”

Conti will reunite with Roberto D’Aversa who coached him at Parma last season when Andrea was on loan there. It’s the end of a chapter for Conti, who is still only 27-year-old.
